A judge has permitted Universal Music Group (UMG) and Sony to proceed with accusations that Suno AI engaged in copyright infringement by pirating YouTube content. The labels allege that Suno used 'stream ripping' to gather data for training its AI. However, the judge rejected a request by the labels to expand the lawsuit to include an additional 61,026 recordings, on top of the 560 already cited. Originally reported by Music Business Worldwide.
